Reading the site

You can read public articles without creating an account. The hosting service may process basic operational data needed to deliver, secure, and measure the site.

Comments

You do not need an account to comment. We use the email address you provide to send a one-time verification link and help prevent abuse. The address is sent to our email provider for delivery, but it is never displayed publicly or stored in the comments database. Instead, we store a protected pseudonymous identifier, your display name, comment text, moderation status, and dates. Unverified comments are not public; their links expire after 48 hours, and expired drafts are deleted. Short-lived protected counters help us limit automated abuse.

Newsletter signup is separate from site identity. We store the address you enter, consent and confirmation dates, subscription status, and the privacy-notice version. Verifying a comment does not subscribe you to the newsletter; you must separately submit the newsletter form.

Your choices

Every newsletter includes an unsubscribe path. To request access, correction, or deletion of a comment or subscription record, email privacy@asimpledollar.com.
